Professional Experience

Stephen Heller (born 1955) studied aerospace engineering at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, and received a Bachelor of Science degree, with honors, in 1977.  Following his graduation from Iowa State University, he attended the University of Illinois College of Law in Champaign, Illinois, and was awarded his Juris Doctor, cum laude, in 1980.
           
After graduation from University of Illinois, Mr. Heller joined the firm of Leydig, Voit, Osann, Mayer & Holt in Chicago, specializing in intellectual property law matters.  Mr. Heller has been with the present firm or a predecessor since 1986, specializing in patent, trademark and copyright law and related unfair competition matters.
           
With over 20 years of experience, Mr. Heller’s practice has spanned a wide range of intellectual property law matters.  Mr. Heller has extensive experience in patent litigation matters, patent validity and infringement analysis, patent prosecution, license and agreement preparation, trademark clearance and registration, general client counseling and the like.  He presently represents a wide variety of clients in a range of technical fields.
