Professional ExperienceMr. McGee studied electrical engineering at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida, and received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1993 and a Master of Science degree in 1994. Thereafter, he attended John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois, on a full tuition scholarship. At John Marshall, he was a Staff Editor for The John Marshall Law Review and was awarded his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, in 1997. During law school, Mr. McGee clerked at Lockwood, Alex, FitzGibbon & Cummings (a predecessor of the present firm) in Chicago, Illinois. After graduation, he joined the Lockwood firm as an associate specializing in intellectual property law. Mr. McGee has been with the present firm or a predecessor since 1995, specializing in patent, trademark and copyright law, and related unfair competition and antitrust matters. Mr. McGee’s practice has included a diverse range of intellectual property law matters. He has experience in patent litigation, patent appellate practice, patent validity and infringement analysis, patent prosecution, patent interference practice, patent reissue and reexamination practice, license and agreement preparation, trademark clearance and registration, trademark opposition and cancellation practice, trademark litigation, copyright registration and litigation, due diligence, portfolio management, general client counseling and the like. He presently represents a wide variety of clients, including established and start-up companies in various fields, particularly those in the electronics, multimedia and electronic commerce industries. |
