Professional Experience

Mark Murphy (born 1964) studied chemical engineering at the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Indiana, and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering in 1986.  Following his graduation from Notre Dame, he attended Marquette University School of Law in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1989.

Mr. Murphy has been with the present firm or a predecessor since 1989, specializing in patent and trademark matters.
           
He is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin, the American Bar Association and the Intellectual Property Law Association of Chicago. 
           
Mr. Murphy has been involved in diverse intellectual property legal matters.  Much of his practice has been devoted to patent litigation and patent prosecution matters, as well as patent validity and infringement opinions, trademark registration, and intellectual property client counseling for numerous domestic and foreign business entities.  He has significant experience over a broad range of technologies including semiconductor processing methods, LCD and electroluminescent display technology, cancer treatment and medicaments, magnetic recording mediums, medical devices, and beverage-ware technologies.
