Professional ExperienceMr. Pristelski studied electrical engineering at the University of Wisconsin at Madison, Wisconsin. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering in 1966. Further, he was elected to the honorary engineering societies, Tau Beta Pi and Eta Kappa Nu. Mr. Pristelski was employed as an electronic design engineer at Collins Radio Company (now Rockwell Collins) located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, from 1966 to 1970, where he gained experience in both analog and digital circuit design. Mr. Pristelski attended the University of Iowa School of Law, and was awarded his Juris Doctor degree in 1972, with distinction. He then joined the law department of the Square D Company in Park Ridge, Illinois, where he specialized in intellectual property law matters. In 1975, Mr. Pristelski joined the law firm of McWilliams & Mann, and continued his intellectual property law practice. He joined Lockwood, Dewey, Alex & Cummings, a predecessor of the present firm, in 1977. In 1979, Mr. Pristelski joined the Intellectual Property Law Department of Motorola, Inc. in Schaumburg, Illinois. For the next 22 years, his practice at Motorola encompassed a wide variety of domestic and international intellectual property law issues in the high-tech electronics industry. His last position at Motorola was as Senior Litigation Counsel. During his many years of legal practice, Mr. Pristelski has acquired significant experience in domestic and international intellectual property matters, including patent prosecution, patent validity and infringement opinions, trademark and copyright procurement, licensing, trade secrets, patent interferences, trademark oppositions and cancellations, protection of computer software, importation of gray market goods, litigation and counseling. |
