Professional ExperienceMr. Smalley studied both computer engineering and mathematics at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. While at Vanderbilt, Mr. Smalley was awarded the William H. Rowen Scholarship and was elected to the Tau Beta Pi National Engineering Honor Society. Mr. Smalley received a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Vanderbilt in 2002, graduating summa cum laude. After graduating from Vanderbilt, Mr. Smalley attended the DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, Illinois. Mr. Smalley graduated from DePaul in May 2005 and was awarded a Juris Doctor with a Certificate of Specialization in General Intellectual Property Law. During his studies at DePaul, Mr. Smalley clerked at the firm beginning in 2003. He joined the firm as an associate in 2005. Mr. Smalley has experience in license and agreement preparation, litigation, U.S. copyright, patent, trademark and trade secret matters, patent prosecution, and patent validity and infringement analyses. |
