CHICAGO, IL—April 3, 2006 Cook Alex today announced that it has successfully integrated the firm’s advanced office technologies and processes with the USPTO’s recently released EFS-Web solution. “We are continually investigating methods to further streamline and optimize our processes to better ensure our ability to provide clients with high quality, cost-effective, and timely results,” said Gary W. EFS-Web is a web-based patent application and document submission solution launched by the USPTO in March 2006, which utilizes standard web-based screens and prompts to enable submission of portable document format (PDF) documents directly to the USPTO. EFS-Web offers the ability to file patent applications and other patent documents electronically in a fraction of the time, and at substantially less cost than paper filings. Unlike paper filings, most new applications submitted electronically can be viewed shortly after filing.
