Joseph Freund

Mr. Freund studied general engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and received a Bachelor of Science degree in 2001.

After graduating from the University of Illinois, Mr. Freund attended the DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, Illinois, and was awarded a Juris Doctor with a Certificate of Specialization in General Intellectual Property Law in May 2004. During his studies at DePaul, he clerked at the firm beginning in 2002.

Mr. Freund is admitted to practice law in the State of Illinois and is admitted before the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He is also admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office as a patent attorney.

Mr. Freund has gained experience in license and agreement preparation, litigation, trademark clearance and prosecution, patent prosecution, and validity and infringement analyses. His patent prosecution practice specializes in the analysis, patenting and prosecution of medical and biomedical devices and equipment, automotive and railway parts and devices, manufacturing equipment and processes, and consumer products, as well as a wide variety of other mechanical and electrical devices and methods.
